(전국= KTN) 김도형 기자= 양포동 주민 모두의 오래 숙원사업인 고등학교를 유치하기 위한 “양포동고등학교유치위원회’가 2020.8.28.(금) 오후 2시 양포동행정복지센터 회의실에서 발족식을 가졌다.

구미 양포동은 인구 46,481명에 초등학교 4개교(옥계초, 양포초, 옥계동부초, 해마루초)에 학생수가 4,776명, 중학교 3개교(옥계중, 옥계동부중, 해마루중)에 학생수가 2,014명에 달함에도 고등학교는 전무하여 지역 거주 고등학생 약 2,000여명 전부가 타지 원거리 통학의 고충을 일상으로 겪고 있으며, 이로 인한 학부모들의 경제적 부담도 적지 않은 실정으로 ‘고등학교 유치’는 양포동 주민 모두의 오랜 숙원사업이다. (인구 2020.7.31기준, 학생수 2020.3.1.기준)

Yangpo-dong, Gumi has a population of 46,481 students and 4,776 students in four elementary schools (Okgye Elementary School, Yangpo Elementary School, Okgye Dongbu Elementary School, and Haemaru Elementary School) and 2,014 students in three middle schools (Okgye Middle School, Okgye Dongbu Middle School, and Haemaru Middle School) but all 2,000 high school students in the region are suffering from difficulties due to commuting to their daily life. (based on population 2020.7.31, number of students 2020.3.1)

양포동 인구는 46,481명으로 구미 전체 인구 417,098명의 11.4%을 차지하고, 양포동 중학생은 2,014명으로 구미 전체 중학생 12,974명의 15.5%을 차지하여 구미 전체 고등학교 18고교(일반고+특목고)를 인구 비율로 배치한다면 2개교가, 중학생 비율로 배치한다면 2.8개교가 양포동에 배치되어야 하나 현재 양포동에 배치된 고등학교는 전무하다.

The population of Yangpo-dong is 46,481, accounting for 11.4% of the total population of 417,098 in Gumi, and the number of middle school students in Yangpo-dong is 2,014, accounting for 15.5% of the 12,974 middle school students in Gumi. If 18 high schools (general high schools + special purpose high schools) in Gumi are deployed in the population ratio, two schools should be deployed in Yangpo-dong, but no high schools currently deployed in Yangpo-dong.

게다가 양포동의 학생수는 중학교 3학년생 653명, 1학년생 732명, 초등학생 6학년생 736명, 4학년생 777명, 2학년생 891명으로 저학년일수록 계속 증가하여 고등학교 부재 상황은 더 심화되고 있은 실정으로 양포동의 고등학교 유치는 매우 시급하고, 2021년도 구미 고등학교의 학급당 정원이 24명임을 감안할 때 양포동는 학년별 10학급의 고등학교가 3개교 필요한 상황이다.

Moreover, the number of students in Yangpo-dong is 653 in the third grade of middle school, 732 in the first grade, 736 in the sixth grade, 777 in the fourth grade, and 891 in the second grade. As the absence of high schools is getting worse, it is very urgent to attract high schools in Yangpo-dong, considering that the number of students per class in Gumi High School is 24 in 2021, Yangpo-dong needs 3 schools.

금년 3월 1일 양포동과 인접한 산동 확장단지에 산동고등학교가 개설되었으나 산동고등학교 입학정원은 192명(‘21년도 기준, 학급당 24명 × 8학급)뿐으로 확장단지 거주 학생(인덕중 1학년생 234명, 인덕초·원당초·신당초 3개 초등학교 5학년생 287명, 3학년생 447명, 1학년생 554명)도 전부 수용하지 못하여 중학교 1학년생이 고등학교에 입학하는 2023년부터 산동 확장단지 자체로도 고등학교가 부족한 상황이 되는 결과로, 산동고는 양포동의 고등학교 부재 상황을 타개함에 전혀 도움이 되지 못한다.

On March 1 this year, Sandong High School was opened in the San-dong Expansion Complex adjacent to Yangpo-dong, but the enrollment quota for Sandong High School was only 192 students (as of '21; 24 students per class 8 8 classes), living in the expansion complex (234 students in the 1st grade of Indeok Middle School, 287 students in the 5th grade of Indeok Elementary School, Wondang Elementary School, and 557 students in the 1st grade, 447 students in the 1st grade.

오늘 발족식에서 참석 위원들은 이영주(양포동체육회장)을 위원장으로, 박은정(대우아파트자치회장)과 정하정(중흥에스클래스자치회장), 이성만(양포동청년회장) 3인을 공동부위원장으로 선출했다.

양포동고등학교유치위원회는 앞으로 양포동의 고등학교 부재 상황을 타개하기 위하여 우선 학교부지로 조성되고도 10년 이상 방치되어 있는 한국수자원공사 소유의 ‘구미시 옥계동 923번지’ 부지에 고등학교를 유치함을 목표로, 경상북도교육감과 구미시장, 경상북도지사, 구미시의회의장 등과의 면담을 통하여 고등학교 유치의 당위성을 설명하고 필요한 행정적 지원을 모색 요청하며, 고등학교 유치에 속도를 낼 계획이다.

In order to overcome the absence of high schools in Yangpo-dong, the Yangpo-dong High School Promotion Committee plans to attract high schools on 923 Okgye-dong, Gumi-si, Gumi-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and Gumi-si City Council through meetings with the superintendent of education of Gyeongsangbuk-do, the mayor of Gumi-si, and the chairman of Gumi-si City Council, to explain the legitimacy of high school attraction and to speed up the process.

먼저, 바쁜 일정에도 불구하고 엄중한 코로나 시국에도 마다하지 않고 오늘 이 자리에 기꺼이 참석하여 주신 모든 위원님들께 진심으로 감사의 인사를 올립니다.

그리고 양포동 발전과 직결된 매우 중요한 자리임에도 여러모로 많이 부족한 저를 믿고 맡겨 주심에, 저에게 힘이 되어 주심에 진심으로 감사드립니다.

오늘 우리가 이 자리에 모인 것은 양포동에 고등학교를 유치하기 위함입니다.

고등학교 유치는 우리 모두가 바라는 양포동의 오랜 숙원사업이고, 반드시 이루어내야 할 일입니다.

행정당국을 움직이고 행정당국의 지원을 이끌어내야만 성사될 수 있는 일로 분명 쉽지만은 않을 것입니다.

그러나 방법은 단 하나 있다고 생각합니다.

그 방법은 오늘 여기 모인 우리 모두가, 양포동 동민 모두가 하나로 마음을 모우고 뭉치는 것입니다.

그렇게 한다면 우리는 반드시 우리의 자식들이, 양포동의 아들딸들이 더 이상 타지 원거리 통학의 고충을 겪지 않고 보다 좋은 교육환경 속에서 밝은 미래를 설계하고 그 꿈을 이루어나가는 것을 직접 보게 될 것입니다.

우리는 그동안 안타깝게도 고등학교의 필요성을 절감하면서도 힘을 모우지도 않았고, 소리를 내지도 않았습니다.

우리는 지금부터라도 힘을 하나로 모우고, 직접 소리도 내야 합니다.

오늘 배포한 자료를 보면 알 수 있듯이 양포동 학생을 전부 수용하려면 양포동에 고등학교가 3개교 정도 있어야 하나, 현실은 안타깝게도 전무합니다.

그리고 우리의 오랜 갈망으로 금년 3월 1일 개설된 산동고는 확장단지 학생도 전부 수용하지 못하여 양포동에 전혀 도움 되지 않습니다.

이것이 누구도 거부할 수 없는 우리의 확실한 명분이고, 이 명분이 있는 이상 우리 모두가 힘을 모우면 반드시 길은 있으리라, 이루어지리라 저는 믿습니다.

오늘 유치위원회가 공식 출범하면 집행부에서는 우선 주민들을 대상으로 고등학교 유치촉구 서명을 받을 계획입니다.

그 동안 준비 과정에서 박기범 위원께서 많은 고생을 하시어 나름 상당한 서명을 받아 두고 있습니다만 우리 모두가 하나로 뭉쳤다고 할 정도의 수준은 아니어서 당분간 서명운동을 지속할 것입니다.

서명운동에 위원님 여러분의 많은 관심과 참여, 협조를 부탁드립니다.

집행부는 주민들 서명을 바탕으로 행정당국과 고등학교 유치방안을 모색하고 필요한 지원을 얻어낼 계획입니다.

우리의 숙원사업이 이루어지도록 최선을 다할 것입니다.

집행부 힘만으로 부족할 때에는 여러분께 SOS를 치겠습니다.

그 때는 여러분의 단합된 힘을 보여 주십시오.

오늘 바쁜 일정에도 불구하고, 엄중한 코로나 상황에도 불구하고 이 자리에 참석하여 저에게 많은 힘이 되어 주신 위원님 여러분께 다시 한 번 더 진심으로 감사드리며, 위원님과 가족 모두가 코로나에 무탈하고 건강하시기를 기원합니다.

First of all, I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all the members of the committee who are willing to attend today's meeting despite their busy schedule, regardless of the severe Corona situation.

And even though it is a very important place that is directly related to the development of Yangpo-dong, I sincerely thank you for your support and trust in me and trust me in many ways.

We gathered here today to attract high school in Yangpo-dong.

Attracting high school is a long-cherished project in Yangpo-dong that we all want, and it must be achieved.

It will certainly not be easy to achieve only by moving the administration and drawing support from the authorities.

But I think there is only one way.

The method is for all of us and the people of Yangpo-dong to unite as one.

If we do so, we will surely see our children, sons and daughters in Yangpo-dong, no longer suffer from long-distance commuting, but design a bright future in a better educational environment and fulfill their dreams.

Unfortunately, we haven't gathered our strength or made any sound while feeling the need for high school.

From now on, we have to gather our strength together and make our own sounds.

As you can see from the data distributed today, there must be about three high schools in Yangpo-dong to accommodate all the students in Yangpo-dong, but unfortunately there is no reality.

And Sandong High School, which was opened on March 1 this year due to our long-cherished desire, is not helpful to Yangpo-dong at all because it cannot accommodate all the students in the expansion complex.

This is our clear cause that no one can resist, and I believe that as long as we all gather our strength, there will be a way.

When the bidding committee is officially launched today, the executive branch plans to first get signatures from residents for high school bids.

In the meantime, committee member Park Ki-beom has been working hard in the process of preparing for the event and has received considerable signatures, but not all of us are united, so we will continue the signature-collecting campaign for the time being.

I ask for your attention, participation, and cooperation in the signature-collecting campaign.

Based on the signatures of the residents, the executive branch plans to seek ways to attract the administrative authorities and high schools and obtain the necessary support.

We will do our best to make our long-cherished project come true.

If the executive force alone is not enough, I'll give you an SOS.

Then show us your united strength.

And the executive will report to the committee members by text or phone.
