(전국= KTN) 김도형 기자= 28일 구미시 원호리의 주민 1명이 진드기에 물려 감염되어 김천의료원에서 입원 치료중이다. 구미시 관계자에 따르면 관내에서는 원호에서 처음 발생했다고 하며, 고아읍사무소에서 원호리에 진드기 퇴치를 위한 연막 작업과 선산보건소에서 분무 작업을 했다고 한다.

지난 8월 12일 야생 진드기에 물려 감염되는 '중증 열성 혈소판 감소 증후군(SFTS)'에 걸린 응급환자에게 심폐소생술을 실시한 경북대병원 의료진 5명이 SFTS에 집단 감염됐다. SFTS는 이른바 '살인 진드기'로 불리는 SFTS 바이러스를 보유한 작은소참진드기에 물려 감염되며, 진드기에 물리면 2주 이내에 고열, 구토, 설사, 혈소판 감소 등 증상이 나타난다. 증상이 심해지면 혈뇨·혈변 증상과 다발성 장기부전으로 목숨이 위태롭다.

원호리 주민 K씨에 따르면 마을 이장이 방송을 통해 진드기 전염병 주의를 당부했다고 하며 "5명의 환자가 발생한 것으로 알고 있는데, 구미시에서는 이 사실을 알리지 않고 있어 벌초 등 야외활동을 하는 시민들이 진드기에 감염될 우려가 있다."며 위험성을 경고했다.
