망자를 위로하는 회다지기소리

 

 

한 평생 건강하게 잘 살다가 장수하고 죽음을 맞이한 노인의 경우 호상이라 부른다.

고인이 되신 우리 아버지는 향년 82세를 일기로 세상을 떠나셨다.

100세 시대를 넘어 120세 시대를 바라보는 오늘날에 고인께서 여느 노인들보다 일찍 세상을 마감한 아쉬움이 크다.

그리고 일찍 세상을 떠나신 까닭에 대해 만감이 교차한다.

아버지께선 장수하지는 않으셨지만 호상중에도 상호상이셨다.

그이유는 아버지께서는 발인하여 봉토까지 다하는 그날까지 철두철미하셨기 때문이다.

자식들이 행여나 고인의 장례로 인해 어려움을 겪을까 싶어 주변의 인심을 많이 쌓았고, 10년 전에는 가묘에 석관까지 매립하여 놓으셨다.

게다가 세상을 떠나는 의식의 마지막 날까지도 하늘의 일기를 순조롭게 만드셨다.

장례식 마지막 날 새벽은 몹시 춥고 센 바람이 불었으나 발인하여 장지까지 가는 순간은 바람이 그치고 온화한 날씨가 이어졌다.

흐린 날씨임에도 불구하고 만년집을 짓는 순간만큼은 햇빛이   비치고 지기를 반복했고 더없이 무난한 날씨였다.

평토제를 지낸 마지막 순간에서야 하늘에서 비가 흐느끼듯 조금 흩날린 날이다.

어머니는 하늘의 심성이 마치 얄궂게도 아버지를 닮았다고 하신다.

교육자셨던 아버지께선 하늘로 가시는 마지막 순간까지도 솔선수범하여 자식들에게 깨달음과 가르침을 주기위해 생전부터 모든 시나리오를 준비하셨다.

살아 생전 교류했던 아버지 지인들께서 모두 찾아오셨고 많이들 슬퍼하셨다.

세상 사람들에게 바른 삶의 행적과 교훈을 주고 가신 아버지의 큰자리를 잊지 않겠다.
