ODVA, 산업 자동화 및 네트워크 표준을 향한 새로운 발걸음

[한국유통신문= 김도형 기자] 3월 20일, 미국 플로리다주 클리어워터에서 열린 제23차 회원사 연례회의에서 ODVA(Open DeviceNet Vendor Association)는 24기 임원진 선출을 완료했다고 밝혔다. 이번 선출은 ODVA의 미래 비전과 기술 혁신을 더욱 강화하는 중요한 발판이 될 것으로 기대된다.

ODVA는 기술 혁신과 향상된 운영 우수성을 달성하기 위한 전략적 이니셔티브를 출범했다. 이 노력은 ODVA 이사회에서 시작된 종합적인 검토 과정을 통해 미래의 도전과제를 대비하려는 목적을 가지고 있다. ODVA 이사회는 산업 자동화 장치 및 시스템 공급업체의 고위 임원들로 구성되어 있으며, 이번 임원진 선출은 ODVA가 기술과 거버넌스에서 최고 수준의 책임을 지는 중요한 전환점을 의미한다.

ODVA의 기술검토위원회는 CIP(Common Industrial Protocol), EtherNet/IP 및 DeviceNet 등 ODVA 사양에 포함된 기술적 개선사항을 승인하고 기술 및 표준 개발을 감독한다. 24기 기술검토위원회 구성원에는 하니웰, 슈나이더 일렉트릭, 댄포스, 엔드레스하우저 등 주요 기업들의 전문가들이 참여하고 있다.

ODVA의 시장자문위원회는 글로벌 및 지역적 채택 현황과 활용 사례를 평가하며, ODVA 기술의 현재와 미래를 논의한다. 24기 시장자문위원회에는 로크웰 오토메이션, 하니웰, HMS 네트웍스 등 주요 기업의 임원들이 대표로 활동한다.

 

ODVA의 사장 겸 총괄 디렉터인 알 베이둔 박사는 24기의 목표에 대해 "SPE(Single Pair Ethernet)와 AI(인공지능) 같은 기술에 의해 주도되는 연결된 미래를 대비하는 데 주력하고 있다"며, "ODVA는 개방형 기술을 통해 상호운용성, 안전 및 보안을 지속적으로 강조하고 있으며, EtherNet/IP를 통해 미래의 도전과 기회에 대비하고 있다"고 강조했다.

ODVA는 2025년 4분기, 2026 산업 컨퍼런스 및 제24차 연례회의 일정과 장소를 발표할 예정이다. 이와 같은 혁신적인 활동들은 ODVA가 산업 자동화 및 네트워크 기술의 표준을 선도하는 중요한 역할을 할 것임을 명확히 보여준다.

[Korea Distribution Newspaper = Reporter Kim Do-hyung] On Mar. 20, the Open Device Net Vendor Association (ODVA) announced at the 23rd annual meeting of its members in Clearwater, Florida, the U.S., that it has completed the selection of its 24th executive branch. This election is expected to serve as an important stepping stone to further strengthen ODVA's future vision and technological innovation.

 

ODVA launched a strategic initiative to achieve technological innovation and improved operational excellence. This effort aims to prepare for future challenges through a comprehensive review process initiated by the ODVA board. The ODVA board is made up of senior executives from industrial automation device and system providers, and the selection of executives marks an important turning point for ODVA to take the highest level of responsibility in technology and governance.

Experts from major companies such as Honeywell, Schneider Electric, Danforth, and Endreshauser are participating in the members of the 24th Technical Review Committee.

ODVA's Market Advisory Committee evaluates global and regional adoption and use cases, and discusses the present and future of ODVA technology. Executives of major companies such as Lockwell Automation, Honeywell, and HMS Networks will represent the 24th Market Advisory Committee.
