Sejung Group's CXL Bio Center holds a workshop to expand exports of fresh agricultural products using CA technology

Participation of industry, academia, and research experts at home and abroad to discuss strategies to strengthen global competitiveness of fresh agricultural products based on CA technology

[Korea Distribution Newspaper = Reporter Kim Min-jae] On September 25, the "Expansion Workshop for Exporting Fresh Agricultural Products Using CA Technology" was held at Sejung Group CXL Bio Center in Osong Life Science Complex, Cheongju, co-hosted by the National Institute of Horticultural Science, Sejung Group's Fresh Logistics Team, and the Korea Cold Chain Association. The event began with the opening speech of Kim Myung-soo, president of the National Institute of Horticultural Science, and Han Myung-soo and experts from related organizations attended to share heated discussions and information.

 

"It is a meaningful place to check together on the process in which CA (Controlled Atmosphere) technology has taken root in Korea over the past five years and the government and industry have expanded together as national tasks," Kim Myung-soo said in his opening speech. "We need to use this technology to come up with concrete alternatives to promote exports of fresh agricultural products and publicize the value of agricultural products to the world."

 

In his welcoming speech, Han Myung-soo, CEO of Sejung Group, said, "Since 2020, Sejung Group has been working with the National Institute of Horticultural Science to introduce CA container technology to strengthen the export competitiveness of fresh agricultural products. Based on logistics innovation and mixed loading research through CA technology, we are striving to diversify export items and establish a rapid transportation system." He also expressed his ambition, saying, "In the future, we will continue to drive the globalization of Korean agricultural products by revitalizing domestic and foreign research and forums centered on CA technology."

 

 

 

The workshop was divided into two sessions. The first session was led by Professor Lee Eun-jin of Seoul National University, with Kwon Soon-young, head of the Korea Agro-Fisheries & Food Trade Corporation, as well as the announcement of "Exporting Agricultural Products Using CA Technology" by Yoo Hyung-gon, head of the Gyeonggi Export Division. The second session was led by Lim Jong-guk, head of the National Institute of Horticultural Science, and presented "Research and Development Direction for Exporting Fresh Agricultural Products Using CA Technology" by researcher Lee Ji-hyun and "Measures to Establish Mobile CA Technology Infrastructure and Expand Import and Export Agricultural Products" by Song Hak-kyu, president of Sejung Shipping.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In particular, Sejung Group's CXL Bio Center is a logistics center dedicated to bio and fresh agricultural products with advanced logistics infrastructure and operates a smart valleyation center for optimal temperature management of pharmaceuticals and agricultural products. The center is playing a pivotal role in strengthening the competitiveness of exports of fresh agricultural products based on Korea's highest level of technology and global networks in the cold chain logistics field.

Participants in the event held in-depth discussions on the current status of CA technology, future development directions, export strategies, and ways to expand cooperation, strengthening the will to strengthen the global market competitiveness of Korean agricultural products.

 

 

세중그룹 CXL바이오센터, CA기술 활용 신선농산물 수출 확대 워크숍 성황리에 개최

국내외 산·학·연 전문가 참여, CA기술 기반 신선 농산물 글로벌 경쟁력 강화 전략 논의

[한국유통신문= 김민재 기자] 9월 25일, 청주시 오송생명과학단지에 위치한 세중그룹 CXL바이오센터에서 국립원예특작과학원, 세중그룹 신선물류팀, 한국콜드체인협회 공동 주최로 ‘CA기술 활용 신선농산물 수출확대 워크숍’이 열렸다. 이날 행사는 국립원예특작과학원 김명수 원장의 개회사로 시작해, 세중그룹 한명수 대표와 관련 기관 전문가들이 참석해 열띤 토론과 정보를 공유했다.

김명수 원장은 개회사에서 “지난 5년간 대한민국에서 CA(Controlled Atmosphere, 저온가스처리) 기술이 뿌리를 내리고 정부와 산업계가 국가적 과제로 함께 확장해온 과정에 대해 함께 확인하는 뜻깊은 자리”라며, “이 기술을 활용해 신선 농산물 수출을 활성화하고 농산물의 가치를 세계에 널리 알리는 구체적 대안을 마련해야 한다”고 강조했다.

한명수 세중그룹 대표는 환영사에서 “세중그룹은 2020년부터 국립원예특작과학원과 협력해 CA컨테이너 기술을 도입, 신선 농산물의 수출 경쟁력 강화에 노력해왔다”며 “CA기술을 통한 물류 혁신과 혼합 적재 연구를 기반으로 수출 품목 다양화와 신속한 운송 체계 구축에 힘쓰고 있다”고 말했다. 그는 또 “앞으로도 CA기술을 중심으로 국내외 연구와 포럼을 활성화하여 한국 농산물의 세계화를 견인하겠다”고 포부를 밝혔다.

이번 워크숍은 두 개 세션으로 나뉘어 진행됐다. 제1세션은 서울대학교 이은진 교수가 좌장을 맡아 한국농수산식품유통공사 권순영 부장의 ‘신선식품 수출지원전략’과 경기수출 유형곤 과장의 ‘CA기술 활용 농산물 수출 사례’ 발표가 있었다. 제2세션은 국립원예특작과학원 임종국 과장이 좌장을 맡아 이지현 연구관의 ‘CA기술 활용 신선 농산물 수출 연구와 발전 방향’과 세중해운 송학규 사장의 ‘Mobile CA 기술 인프라 구축 및 수출입 농산물 확대 방안’ 발표가 진행됐다.

특히 세중그룹의 CXL바이오센터는 첨단 물류 인프라를 갖춘 바이오 및 신선농산물 전용 물류센터로, 의약품과 농산물의 최적 온도 관리를 위한 스마트 밸리데이션센터를 운영하고 있다. 이 센터는 콜드체인 물류 분야에서 국내 최고 수준의 기술력과 글로벌 네트워크를 바탕으로 신선 농산물 수출 경쟁력 강화에 중추적 역할을 하고 있다.

행사 참석자들은 CA기술의 현황과 향후 발전 방향, 수출 전략 및 협력 확대 방안에 대해 심도 있는 논의를 진행하며, 한국 농산물의 글로벌 시장 경쟁력 강화를 위한 의지를 다졌다.
