사동항, 남양항, 울릉도 일주도로 등 집중 피해지역 현장 점검

(전국= KTN) 김도형 기자= 정세균 국무총리가 이번 제9호 태풍 ‘마이삭’과 제10호 태풍 ‘하이선’으로 큰 피해를 입은 울릉도를 방문했다.

이번 태풍으로 울릉도는 사동항 방파제 200m가 파손되고 여객선 돌핀호(310호t급)와 예인선 아세아5호(50t급)를 비롯해 많은 어선들이 침몰했으며 섬 일주도로 일부가 파손되고 파도를 막기위해 설치된 50t 무게의 테스라포드 구조물이 강풍과 해일 파도에 날려 도로까지 날아오는 등 큰 피해를 입었다.

이에 정세균 국무총리 일행은 오후 2시경 헬기로 울릉군 사동항에 도착해 피해상황을 점검한데 이어 피해가 집중된 남양항과 울릉도 일주도로 피해지역을 방문해 김병수 울릉군수로부터 피해상황을 보고 받고 복구 대책을 논의했다.

장세호 경북도당위원장은 김병수 군수와의 통화에서 “거듭된 태풍으로 많은 피해를 입은 군민들과 아픔을 함께 하겠다”고 말하고 “피해가 완전히 복구될 때 까지 경북도당이 할 수 있는 모든 역할을 할 것”이라 밝혔다.

한편, 이번 태풍은 지난 2003년 370억원의 재산피해를 냈던 ‘매미’때 보다 100억원이 늘어난 476억원으로 잠정 집계된 것으로 알려지고 있으며 피해 복구에는 최소 1년 이상 소요될 것으로 예상되고 있다.

The typhoon damaged 200 meters of the breakwater at Sadong Port, sank many fishing boats, including the ferry Dolphin (310 tons) and the tugboat Asia 5 (50 tons), and damaged parts of the island's main road and caused 50 tons of damage to the 50-ton Teslaford structure, which was set up to prevent waves, to the road.

In response, Prime Minister Chung Sye-kyun and his party arrived at Sadong Port in Ulleung County by helicopter at around 2 p.m. to check the damage and visit the affected areas of Namyangju and Ulleung Island, where the damage was concentrated, to receive reports from Ulleung County Governor Kim Byung-soo and discuss recovery measures.

Jang Se-ho, chairman of the North Gyeongsang Provincial Party, said in a telephone conversation with Kim Byung-soo, "I will share my pain with the people who suffered a lot from the typhoon," adding, "We will play every role the North Gyeongsang Provincial Party can play until the damage is fully recovered."

Meanwhile, the typhoon is said to have been estimated at 47.6 billion won, up 10 billion won from the previous year's property damage of 37 billion won, and is expected to take at least a year to recover from the damage.
