‘ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025’ 전시 참여, 세계 예술가들과 어깨를 나란히 하다

[한국유통신문= 김도형 기자] 오는 2025년 4월 4일부터 6일까지 프랑스 루브르 박물관의 카루젤(CARROUSEL DU LOUVRE)에서 열리는 ‘ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025’에 우영지 작가가 참여한다. 세계 각국의 현대미술 작가들이 모여 예술의 가치를 공유하는 이 전시에서, 우영지 작가는 고요와 명상을 주제로 한 비구상 회화를 선보일 예정이다.

명상을 화폭에 담다 – 우영지 작가의 예술 세계

 

홍익대학교 미술대학원을 졸업한 우영지 작가는 오랜 시간 당산나무를 모티브로 한 회화 작업을 이어왔다. 예술은 그의 오랜 취미였지만, 스승님의 권유로 대학원에 진학하며 본격적인 작품 활동을 시작하게 되었다.

그의 작품 세계를 한마디로 정의하자면 ‘고요와 명상의 미학’이다. 현대사회가 던지는 수많은 소음 속에서 관람객이 그의 작품을 통해 깊은 적막과 평온을 경험하길 바란다.

 

우영지 작가는 최근 2년간 먹물과 아크릴 물감을 활용한 독창적인 기법을 연구해왔다. 일반적인 캔버스가 아닌 젯소를 바르지 않은 아사천을 사용해, 물감이 자연스럽게 퍼지고 스며들도록 유도한다. 습기를 머금은 천 위에 먹물이 흐르며 얼룩을 만들고, 그 위에 얇은 층을 쌓아가는 방식으로 작품을 완성한다. 이는 작가가 추구하는 자연스러운 흐름과 깊이 있는 감성을 더욱 강조하는 기법이다.

우영지 작가는 이번 전시 참여를 앞두고 "전시 참여를 권유해 주신 강경록 작가님과 아직 한 번도 만나지 못했지만, 그의 열정에 기대어 이 기회를 잡았다"며 감사의 마음을 전했다.

그의 목표는 명확하다. 현재 진행 중인 시리즈가 완성될 때까지 꾸준히 매진하는 것. 그는 “관객들이 제 작품을 통해 깊은 적막과 고요의 에너지를 느껴보길 바란다”고 전했다.

이번 ‘ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025’에서 우영지 작가의 작품이 어떻게 세계 관객들의 감성을 자극할지 기대된다.

Woo Young-ji Opens New Horizons of Modern Art at Louvre Museum

Participating in the 'ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025' Exhibition, Standing shoulder to shoulder with global artists

[Korea Distribution Newspaper = Reporter Kim Do-hyung] Woo Young-ji will participate in the "ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025" at the CarROUSEL DUUVRE at the Louvre Museum in France from April 4-6, 2025. In this exhibition, where contemporary artists from all over the world gather to share the value of art, Woo Young-ji will present an figurative painting on the theme of silence and meditation.

Meditation on a canvas – Woo Young-ji's Art World

Woo Young-ji, a graduate of Hongik University Graduate School of Art, has been working on paintings with the motif of Dangsan Tree for a long time. Art has been his long-time hobby, but at the recommendation of his teacher, he went to graduate school and began his work in earnest.

To define the world of his work in one word, 'Aesthetics of Silence and Meditation'. We hope that visitors will experience deep silence and tranquility through his work amid the numerous noises that the modern society throws.

Woo Young-ji has been studying original techniques using ink and acrylic paint for the last two years. Instead of using a general canvas, asa cloth without a jetty is used to induce the paint to spread and permeate naturally. The work is completed by making a stain by flowing ink on a damp cloth and stacking thin layers on it. This is a technique that further emphasizes the natural flow and in-depth sensibility pursued by the artist.

Ahead of his participation in the exhibition, Woo Young-ji expressed his gratitude, saying, "I have never met Kang Kyung-rok, who recommended me to participate in the exhibition, but I took this opportunity based on his passion."

His goal is clear. He constantly works hard until the series, which is currently underway, is completed. "I hope that the audience will feel the deep silence and the energy of silence through my work," he said.

It is expected how Woo Young-ji's work will stimulate the emotions of global audiences in this "ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025".
