무질서 속의 질서를 그리는 예술가, 유경호

[한국유통신문= 김도형 기자] 2025년 4월 4일부터 6일까지 프랑스 파리 루브르 박물관 카루젤에서 개최되는 국제 미술 전시회 ‘ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025’에 한국 펜화가 유경호 작가가 참여한다.

유경호 작가는 한국펜화가협회 정회원으로 활동하며, 독창적인 펜화 작품을 선보이고 있다. 2021년 스페이스갤러리에서 개인전을 개최했으며, 2023년과 2025년 경인미술관에서 열린 한국펜화가협회 정기전에 참여했다.

30여 년간 직장생활을 하며 틈틈이 그림을 그려온 유경호 작가는 자연스럽게 예술 활동을 시작하게 되었다. 그는 “어느 날 갑자기 예술을 시작한 것이 아니라, 인생 자체가 예술”이라고 말하며, 삶 속에서 자연스럽게 창작 활동이 이루어졌음을 강조했다.

유경호 작가는 자신의 작품 스타일을 ‘무질서 속의 질서’라고 표현한다. 그는 일상을 일탈로, 일탈을 다시 일상으로 바라보며 창작의 영감을 얻는다. 작품의 주요 모티브는 ‘지나온 길, 머물던 곳, 그리고 지금’에서 비롯되며, 특정한 규칙이나 기법에 얽매이지 않고 자유롭게 작업하는 것이 특징이다.

자주 사용되는 기법과 색상유경호 작가는 흑백을 기본으로 한 펜화를 주로 작업하지만, 특정한 기법에 구애받지 않는다. 그는 보이는 대로, 잡히는 대로, 편견 없이 자유로운 시선으로 작품을 완성한다.

유경호 작가는 이번 전시를 ‘일상의 이벤트’로 여기면서도, 자신의 작품이 외국인들에게 어떻게 받아들여질지에 대한 기대감을 내비쳤다. “관객들이 저의 작품을 어떻게 보실지 궁금합니다.”라고 전했다.

작가는 앞으로의 활동이나 목표에 대한 특별한 계획을 세우지 않았다. 그는 기존의 틀에서 벗어나 자유롭게 창작을 이어나가는 것이 곧 예술이라고 생각한다.

“제가 작품 속에서 자유로웠듯이, 관객들도 자유로움을 느끼신다면 그것만으로도 영광입니다.”그의 작품이 전하는 자유로움과 감각적인 표현이 국제 무대에서 어떤 반향을 일으킬지 기대해볼 만하다.

Yoo Kyung-ho, an artist who draws order in disorder

[Korea Distribution News = Kim Do-hyung Journalist] Korean painter Yoo Kyung-ho will participate in the international art exhibition "ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025" to be held from April 4-6, 2025 at the Musical Ride du Louvre in Paris.

Artist Yoo Kyung-ho is a full member of the Korean Painters' Association and presents works of original painting. He held a personal exhibition at the Space Gallery in 2021 and participated in a regular exhibition of the Korean Writers' Association held at the Gyeongin Museum of Art in 2023 and 2025.

Artist Yoo Kyung-ho, who worked for more than 30 years and painted in his spare moments, naturally began his artistic career. "You didn't start art all of a sudden, life itself is art," he said, stressing that creative activity was done naturally in life.

Artist Yoo Kyung-ho expresses the style of his work as "order in order." It is inspired by creation by looking at everyday life as a deviation and a deviation as a deviation. The main reason for the work comes from the "past road, where one was staying and now" and is characterized by free work, without focusing on specific rules or techniques.

Frequently used techniques and colours work mainly on pens based on black and white, but are not influenced by specific techniques. As soon as he is caught, he completes his work with a free and free look.

Artist Yoo Kyung-ho considered this exhibition a "daily event", but expressed expectations about how his work will be perceived by foreigners. "I wonder how the public will see my work," he said.

The author has not made a special plan for future activities or objectives. He believes it is the art of freely continuing to create outside the existing framework.

"Just as I was free in the work, if the viewers feel free, it is an honor."It is worth expecting that the freedom and sensory expression of his work will resonate on the international stage.
