"임은솔 작가, 예술로 삶을 다시 태어나다: 루브르에서의 첫 전시를 맞이하며"

[한국유통신문= 김도형 기자] 2025년 4월 4일부터 6일까지, 프랑스 파리의 루브르 박물관 카루젤(CARROUSEL DU LOUVRE)에서 열리는 ‘ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025’ 전시회에 참가하는 임은솔 작가는 그동안의 예술적 여정과 삶의 깊이를 고스란히 담은 작품을 선보인다. 40대의 나이에 소뇌위축증이라는 병을 진단받은 후, 죽음을 맞이할 수도 있다는 두려움을 느끼며 다시금 예술의 길로 돌아온 그녀. 그 모든 경험이 지금의 그녀의 작품에 그대로 녹아들어 있다.

임은솔 작가는 경기대학교에서 서양화를 전공한 뒤, 홍익대 시각디자인을 졸업했다. 패션섬유를 공부한 이력도 있어 다양한 예술적 경험을 쌓았다. 하지만 인생의 어느 시점에서는 현실과의 싸움에서 지쳐 예술과 멀어졌었다. 결혼 후 아이를 기르며 평범한 일상을 살아가던 그녀에게 예술은 다시 찾아올 기회를 기다리고 있었다.

40대 초반, 소뇌위축증이라는 중대한 병을 진단받은 그녀는 죽음에 가까워지는 두려움 속에서 큰 변화를 겪었다. 몸이 점차적으로 약해지고, 일상 속 작은 일들이 어려워지자 그녀는 “지금 할 수 있는 것들을 다 해보자”는 결심을 하게 되었다. 2023년 4월부터 음악과 감동적인 순간들이 그녀의 작품을 이끌기 시작했고, 자연과 사람들 속에서 느낀 특별함을 예술로 표현하려는 마음이 더욱 강해졌다.

임은솔 작가의 작품은 자연의 공기 속에서 흐르는 인간 내면의 속삭임을 담고 있다. 그녀는 일상의 흔적들 속에서 영감을 얻고, 매일 접하는 자연과 사람들을 작품에 녹여낸다.

인간 내면을 가장 잘 보여주는 작품이 아닐까.. 우리는 저마다 가면을 쓰고 살아간다. 허공에서 두 줄에 의지한 채. 매우 무섭고 두렵지만 아무렇지 않은 척 자신감 있는 표정으로. 몸짓으로. 두팔을 가리고 한눈으로 살짝 비껴본다. 그녀는 머리칼을 꼭 쥐고 있다. 뺏기기싫은 무언가가 있는듯이.

"내가 움직인 공간에서의 흔적들, 그리고 매일 보는 자연과 사람들에서 영감을 받는다"고 전한 임 작가는, 목탄연필을 사용하여 인간을 사실적으로 표현하면서도 선으로 구도와 형태를 강조한다. 색상은 주로 무채색으로, 목탄의 특성을 살려 그라데이션과 형태로 감정을 풀어낸다. 때때로 중간중간 파스텔을 섞어 작품의 깊이를 더하기도 한다.

임은솔 작가는 목탄연필 하나로 인간의 모습을 그리며, 면보다는 선을 강조하여 구도와 형태를 정교하게 다룬다. 이를 통해 인간의 내면을 자연스럽게 드러내고, 감정의 흐름을 선과 형태로 풀어낸다. 그녀의 작품에서는 무채색의 톤과 파스텔이 결합되어 관객들에게 차분하면서도 강렬한 감동을 전달한다.

이번 ‘ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025’ 전시회는 임은솔 작가에게 큰 의미가 있다. “모든 것에서 처음인 제가 이번 페어는 제 예술활동의 시작점이라 매우 설레이고 뜻깊습니다”라고 전한 임 작가는, 이번 전시회를 통해 더 많은 사람들과 소통하고 자신의 예술적 표현을 넓혀가고자 한다.

“당분간은 누드화로 꾸준히 소통할 것입니다. 인간의 몸짓과 표정에서 내면의 감정을 표현하는 것이 좋습니다.”라고 밝힌 임 작가는, 인간의 몸을 매개로 감정의 복잡함을 담아내고, 그로써 관객과의 감정적 교감을 이루려 한다.

임은솔 작가는 관객들에게 “지금 할 수 있는 것과 할 수 없는 것을 구분하고, 할 수 있는 것에 도전하세요. 지금 순간을 사세요.”라는 메시지를 전하고 싶다고 말했다. 그녀는 인생의 한 순간 한 순간을 소중히 여기며, 자신이 겪은 어려움과 회복의 과정을 작품에 담아내고 있다. 관객들에게는 그녀의 작품을 통해 지금 이 순간의 아름다움을 느끼고, 감동을 받을 수 있기를 바란다.

"Artist Lim Eun-sol Reincarnates Life with Art: Celebrating His First Exhibition at the Louvre"

[Korea Distribution Newspaper = Reporter Kim Do-hyung] From April 4-6, 2025, Lim Eun-sol, who will participate in the "ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025" exhibition at the Louvre Museum CARROUSEL DUUVRE in Paris, France, will present her works that contain the depth of her artistic journey and life. After being diagnosed with a disease called cerebellar atrophy in her 40s, she returned to the art path again, fearing that she might die. The whole experience is incorporated into her current work.

Lim Eun-sol majored in Western painting at Kyunggi University and then graduated from Hongik University's Visual Design. He also studied fashion textiles, so he gained various artistic experiences. However, at some point in his life, he became tired of fighting against reality and moved away from art. After marriage, while living a normal life while raising children, she was waiting for a chance to see art again.

In her early 40s, diagnosed with a serious disease called cerebellar atrophy, she underwent a major change in fear of dying. As her body gradually weakened and the small things in her daily life became difficult, she decided to "do all the things that she can do now." From April 2023, music and touching moments began to lead her work, and her desire to express the specialness felt in nature and people through art became stronger.

Lim Eun-sol's work contains the whispers inside humans flowing in the air of nature. She gets inspiration from the traces of her daily life and melts the nature and people she encounters every day into her work.

"I am inspired by the traces of the space I move in and the nature and people I see every day," said Lim, who emphasizes composition and shape with lines while using charcoal pencils to express humans realistically. Colors are mainly achromatic, and the characteristics of charcoal are used to express emotions through gradations and forms. Sometimes pastels are mixed in the middle to add depth to the work.

Writer Lim Eun-sol draws a human figure with a single charcoal pencil and elaborates on the composition and form by emphasizing lines rather than sides. Through this, the inside of humans is revealed naturally and the flow of emotions is released in lines and forms. In her work, achromatic tones and pastels are combined to convey a calm and intense impression to the audience.

This exhibition "ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025" means a lot to artist Lim Eun-sol. "This is my first time in everything. I'm very excited and meaningful because this is the starting point of my art activities," said Lim, who wants to communicate with more people and expand his artistic expression through this exhibition.

"For the time being, we will continue to communicate through nude pictures. It is better to express our inner feelings through human gestures and facial expressions." Lim tries to capture the complexity of emotions through the human body, thereby achieving emotional communication with the audience.

Lim Eun-sol said she wants to convey the message to the audience, "Distinguish what you can't do now from what you can't do, and challenge what you can do. Live in the present moment." She cherishes each moment in her life and captures the difficulties and recovery she has gone through in her work. I hope that the audience will be able to feel and be touched by the beauty of the present moment through her work.
