"자연과 쉼을 그리다: 홍영이의 여정"

[한국유통신문= 김도형 기자] 2025년 4월 4일부터 6일까지, 프랑스 파리의 루브르 박물관 카루젤(CARROUSEL DU LOUVRE)에서 열리는 ‘ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025’ 전시회에서 서양화가 홍영이가 전시 참여를 확정지었다. 그녀는 자연과 여행에서 영감을 받아 감성적이고 치유적인 작품을 통해 현대인의 마음에 위로를 전하고자 한다.

홍영이, 아크릴화로 알려진 서양화가, 그녀의 작품은 단순한 미술을 넘어 사람들의 마음을 치유하고 삶의 여유를 되찾게 하는 메시지를 전한다. 어릴 적 어려운 가정환경 속에서도 미술에 대한 꿈을 놓지 않았던 그녀는 그 길을 걸어 지금의 자리에 오르게 되었다. 그녀는 "그림을 그리며 얻는 기쁨과 어려움 속에서 삶의 철학을 깨닫고, 그 길이 나의 삶의 길이자 내가 걸어가야 할 길"이라며 자신의 예술적 여정을 설명한다.

홍영이의 작품은 자연을 통해 얻은 영감을 바탕으로 ‘휴(休)’라는 주제를 다룬다. 그녀는 기독교 신앙을 바탕으로 여행을 통해 만난 자연의 아름다움과 질서에서 쉼과 회복의 의미를 찾는다. 작품 속에서 보여주는 파란 하늘과 맑은 바다, 그리고 생명력 넘치는 자연의 풍경은 보는 이들에게 깊은 위로와 치유를 전달한다.

홍영이의 대표작 중 하나인 ‘순례의 여정1’ (2020)은 스페인 산티아고 길을 걷으며 만난 쉼과 희망을 표현한 작품이다. 또 다른 대표작 ‘지중해의 추억1’ (2021)에서는 맑고 파란 지중해의 하늘과 바다를 배경으로 쉼의 심상을 동화적 상상력으로 풀어낸다. 최근에는 ‘봄의 언덕에서’ 시리즈(2024)를 통해 기후변화와 새로운 봄의 생명력을 표현하며, 이 작품들을 통해 현대 사회의 빠르게 변하는 환경 속에서 쉼과 희망의 중요성을 강조하고 있다.

홍영이의 작품에서 자주 사용되는 색상은 밝고 명랑한 톤의 블루와 그린이다. 기법적으로는 호일을 사용해 색을 중첩시키고, 모델링 페이스트를 활용해 질감을 표현하는 독특한 방식을 채택한다. 특히 숲의 특징을 생략하고 나만의 개성 있는 나무를 그려내는 스타일은 그녀의 작품에 특별한 매력을 더한다.

홍영이는 루브르 박물관에서의 전시 소감을 묻는 질문에 "루브르를 직접 방문한 적이 있지만, 그곳에서 전시를 한다는 것은 상상만으로도 즐겁다"며 기대감을 내비쳤다. 그녀는 작품을 몰아치기보다는 꾸준한 창작을 중시하며, "누구나 공감할 수 있는 즐거운 그림을 그리려 한다"고 밝혔다. 앞으로도 작품을 통해 긍정적 에너지와 위로를 전하는 작가가 되기를 희망한다.

"Painting Nature and Rest: Hong Young's Journey"



[Korea Distribution Newspaper = Reporter Kim Do-hyung] From Apr. 4-6, 2025, Western painter Hong Young-yi confirmed her participation in the exhibition "ART SHOPPING PARIS 2025" at the Louvre Museum CARROUSEL DUUVRE in Paris, France. Inspired by nature and travel, she intends to comfort modern people through emotional and healing works.



Hong Young-yi, a Western artist who is renowned for her acrylic paintings, delivers a message that heals people's minds and restores their comfort in life beyond simple art. She did not let go of her dream of art even in a difficult family environment when she was young, but she walked that path and became where she is now. She explains her artistic journey, saying, "I realize the philosophy of life amid the joy and difficulties I get from painting, and that path is my life and the path I have to walk."



Hong Young's work deals with the theme of "休" based on inspiration from nature. Based on her Christian faith, she finds the meaning of rest and recovery in the beauty and order of nature she met through travel. The blue sky, clear sea, and vibrant natural scenery in the work convey deep comfort and healing to viewers.



One of Hong Young's masterpieces, Journey 1 of Pilgrimage (2020), is a work that expresses rest and hope that he met while walking on the path of Santiago, Spain. In Memories 1 of the Mediterranean Sea (2021), another masterpiece, the image of rest is expressed with a fairytale imagination against the backdrop of the clear and blue sky and sea of the Mediterranean Sea. Recently, through the series (2024) of "On the Hill of Spring," he expresses climate change and the vitality of a new spring, and through these works, he emphasizes the importance of rest and hope in the rapidly changing environment of modern society.



The colors commonly used in Hong Young's works are bright and cheerful tones of blue and green. Technically, she uses foil to superimpose colors and uses modeling paste to express texture. In particular, her style of drawing her own unique tree by omitting the characteristics of the forest adds a special charm to her work.



When asked about her feelings about the exhibition at the Louvre, Hong said, "I have visited the Louvre in person, but it is fun just imagining it." She emphasized constant creation rather than rushing through her work, and said, "I want to draw a fun picture that anyone can sympathize with." She hopes to become an artist who conveys positive energy and comfort through her work in the future.



Hong Young-yi said, "The function of art is to value the human mind," and she wants to convey positive energy and happy hearts to the audience through her work. She also strives to manage her mind, and said, "I want to convey a little comfort through her work."
