‘사중득활(死中得活) 대사대활(大死大活)'은 죽은 가운데 살고 크게 죽을수록 크게 얻는다는 깨달음을 의미한다.

물질만능주의 현실에서 자신의 모든 욕망과 욕심을 내려놓을 때 진정으로 세상에 대한 이해와 생각의 자유를 얻을 수 있다.

사람의 생각은 이념에 의해 흘러가고, 다른 이념에 대해서는 마음의 경계를 만드는데, 자신의 이념은 세상의 옳고 그름을 판단하는데 잣대가 된다.

내가 옳으면 이념이 다른 사람은 틀린가에 대한 의문은 자연스럽게 형성되어야 할 지성인의 사고습관이다.

자신의 마음과 정신 언저리에 고착되고 경직된 이념의 틀에서 벗어나, 자기 본위의 생각을 죽일 때 진정한 이해의 세계가 펼쳐지게 된다.
