숲에서 사는 모든 생물은 매우 긴밀한 유기적 관계를 맺고 살아가며 서로 주고받으며 숲의 어는 생물도 다른 생물의 도움없이 홀로 살수 없다.

병이 깊은 나무일수록 생존을 위해 더 많은 꽃을 피우며, 나무는 위험이 닥치면 이를 알리기위해 향기로 대화를 한다. 즉 나무만의 고유한 언어가 있다.

예를 들어 시설재배한 산나물은 향이 없지만 자연에서 채취한 산나물은 억새지만 그 고유항 향기를 갖고 있다. 인간의 보호아래 자란 산나물은 외부로부터의 위험이 없기 때문에 향기를 뿜지 않는다는 것이다.

숲을 알고 산림을 알면 산에서의 삶이 도심지의 삶보다 여유로워지며 게다가 더욱 풍요롭고 윤택하게 살 수 있다.

김은현 위원장은 주 5일 근무제 정착으로 산촌 휴양인구가 갈수록 증가하고 있고, 은퇴 후 살고 싶은 곳으로 산촌지역에 대한 선호도가 가장 높다고 한다.

또한 건강에 대한 관심이 높아지면서 청정 임산물 공급처인 산촌의 비중이 갈수록 커지고 있다.

산 약초 재배는 생각하면서 먹는 시대로 접어 들면서 더욱 탄력을 받고 있어 새로이 각광을 받고 있는 품목 중의 하나라고 한다.
