경북 선산 이문리 서당 마을 장원방 기념비 앞에서 2014년 11월 27일 경 미래 인재 아이들 기념사진

 

선산은 고려 말 우왕 때부터 조선왕조 영조 때에 걸쳐 36명의 과거 급제자를 배출했고, 특히 이곳의 장원방 마을에서는 배출된 15명 중 7명이 장원급제에 올랐다.

인재의 고장으로 알려진 선산은 비봉산 아래 명당터로 알려진 고장이다.

비봉산에서 바라다 보이는 금오산 자락 마을은 대통령을 배출한 고장이기도 하다.

대한민국 근대화의 영웅으로 불리며 권력의 관성에 젖어 비운의 생을 마감한 대통령도 배출됐으나, 유신독재시대의 종지부를 찍은 인물이 배출된 곳 또한 선산 장원방이다.

인재들의 고장인 만큼 역사적인 사연이 많은 곳이 바로 선산이다.

선산에는 대한민국 수도 서울을 가로지르는 한강보다 더 큰 규모를 자랑하는 낙동강이 흐른다. 남한 이남에서는 가장 긴 강이다.

명당의 조건 중 빼놓을 수 없는 것이 산과 물이며, 비봉산과 태조산과 천생산과 금오산을 품은 낙동강 자락은 한때 최고의 수출 전진 기지이자 우리나라 고도성장의 축이기도 했다.

이젠 비봉산의 봉황이 날개를 활짝 펴려는 냥 인근에 국제공항 규모의 통합신공항도 들어 설 예정이다.

어찌보면 명당이란 사람이 만들어 가는 문화유산이다.
