신재식 전 정보통신산업진흥원 디지털콘텐츠사업본부 본부장에 따르면 CG는 게임, 3D 애니메이션, 가상·증강현실(VR·AR), 홀로그램, 미디어 파사드, 테마파크 등 쉽게 유관성을 떠올릴 수 있는 분야 뿐 아니라 각종 시뮬레이션, 의료 및 산업용 화상 처리 등에도 응용된다고 한다.

첨단 전자산업도시 구미산단의 산업인프라와 CG산업을 통해 경북 구미는 미래 영상산업의 메카로 거듭날 수 있다.
