Shin Hwi is a poet who won the Rookie of the Year award in 'Today's Literature.

His poems are as heavy as the weight of life he has lived like any poet and make his thoughts beautiful.

He is a person who repeatedly emphasizes that words should have a skeleton, and each word contains his life experience.

Shin Hwi's second collection of poems published on April 12, 2019, "There is the Word of Flower," is praised as a feast of earthy poets with breath of the earth, and is said to be poems of life that have fermented the true heart of life into the language of life.

Poet Park Ki-young said that the daily life of the agricultural culture contained in the reservoir of our memories is still alive, regarding the life and poetry of Shin Hwi, who gave up urban life, returns to his hometown, farming, and cultivates his own unique culture.

Poet Son Taek-soo said about Shin Hwi-si, "There are lives in the shade that have not been able to sing even though it is clearly real," adding, "It is a seed that has been waiting for germination for thousands of years."

Kim Jong-kwang, a literary critic, said that Shin Hwi's poetry writing is about reconciling with deep sadness and bringing poor, lonely, and lonely beings into his yard.

The publisher's review said that Shin Hwi's "There is the word flower" is the essence of the ethics of "there is" practiced by the poet as a person who remembers things that are not felt in the world and narratives and ethics that cannot be proved.

'운주사에 가고 싶다'를 쓴 신휘 시인의 두번째 십집 '꽃이라는 말이 있다'

 

신휘는 1995년 '오늘의 문학' 신인상으로 등단한 시인이다.

여느 시인들처럼 살아온 삶의 무게감만큼 그의 시 역시 무게감이 있고 생각을 곱십게 만든다.

말에는 뼈대가 있어야 한다고 누누히 강조한 인물이며, 말 한마디에 살아온 인생 경험을 담는다.

2019년 4월 12일 출간한 신휘의 두번째 시집 '꽃이라는 말이 있다'는 땅의 숨결이 배어 있는 흙빛 시어들의 향연이라는 찬사와 함께 삶의 진심을 생활의 언어로 발효시킨 생명의 시편들이란 평을 받고 있다.

도시생활을 접고 고향으로 돌아가 농사를 지으며 자신만의 독특한 문화를 일구는 신휘의 삶과 시에  대해 박기영 시인은 우리 기억의 저수지에 담아놓은 농경문화의 일상이 고스란히 살아 있다고 했다.

손택수 시인은 신휘 시에 대해 우리 곁엔 분명히 실재함에도 불구하고 노래하지 못한 그늘속의 삶들이 있다며 수천 년째 발아를 기다리는 씨앗이라고도 했다.

김종광 문학평론가는 신휘의 시쓰기가 짙은 슬픔과 화해하는 일이고 가난하고 외롭고 쓸쓸한 존재들을 자신의 마당으로 불러들이는 작업이라고 했다.

출판사의 평론글은 신휘의 '꽃이라는 말이 있다'에 대해 세상에서 감각되지 않는 존재들과 증명할 수 없는 서사와 윤리에 대해 인간적으로 기억하는 존재로서 시인이  실천하고 있는 “있다”라는 윤리의 본질이라고 했다.

신휘 시인은 시를 통해 모든 있는 것들을 기억함으로써 비로서 존재하게 만든 것이다.
