C. C., the leading author and English writer of English literature.S. Lewis is widely known as the "Narian Chronicles". He was an atheist, but in 1929 he was converted to theism and carried out Christian dialectics.

Lewis was single, but in March 1957, he held an Anglican ceremony with Joey, whom he met by letter in 1952. Joy was diagnosed with bone marrow cancer in October 1956, and she lived a limited life.

Their love was also made into Shadowland.

영국 문학의 대표작가이자 영문학자인 C.S루이스는 '나니아 연대기'로 널리 알려진 인물이다. 그는 무신론자였지만 1929년 유신론으로 회심했으며 기독교 변증론을 펼쳤다.

루이스는 독신으로 살다가 1952년 50세에 편지로 만난 조이와 1957년 3월 병실에서 성공회 예식을 올렸다. 조이는 1956년 10월 골수암 판정을 받아 시한부 인생이었다.

이들의 사랑은 '쉐도우랜드'로 만들어지기도 했다.

조이의 죽음 이후 루이스는 고통에 빠졌으며 자신의 힘든 삶에 대한 솔직한 고백과 회의를 표현한 '헤아려 본 슬픔'을 통해 삶과 신앙의 문제에 대해 의문을 제기했다.

영화로 만들어진 '헤아려 본 슬픔'은 루이스가 자신의 힘든 삶에 대한 솔직한 고백과 회의를 통해 더욱 성숙해지기를 갈망하는 수려한 문장들이어서 20세기 판타지 작가를 넘어서 오늘날에도 큰 영향력을 미치고 있다.

루이스는 인생의 여정에 대해 다음과 같은 말을 남겼다.

"굴곡없는 완만한 길

지옥으로 향하는 가장 안전한 길은

경사가 심하지 않고,

바닥은 부드러우며,

갑작스런 굴곡, 이정표와 표지판이 없는

완만한 길이다.

그 길은 결코 벼랑이 아니고,

밋밋한 내리막길이다.

사람들은 그 길을 기분 좋게 걸어간다."

인생은 즐겁기도 하고 괴롭기도 하며 때론 무지막지한 고통을 안겨다 주기도 한다.

하지만 인생은 참고 견디며 묵묵히 살아가야하는 속성이 있다. 

인내는 쓰나 열매는 달기 때문이다.
