The Road of Cross, called the Road of Sorrow or Road of Hardship, refers to the entire 800m path from where Jesus Christ was tried by Vondio Pilate to the crucifixion, and from Golgotha Hill to the crucifixion, it is a religious path for pilgrims.

There are 14 points on this road with each meaning.

The path of the cross is also reproduced in the mountain behind Chilgok Gasil Cathedral.

The path of hardship Jesus walked is well described in short letters with pictures.

All humans are on the path of hardship, and sometimes they walk on the path of happiness for a while.

The path of sadness is more painful because there is a path of joy, and the path of hope is more welcome because it has walked the path of despair.

In order to live life beautifully, you must accept hardship and pain as usual, and sometimes you must be able to feel the difficulties of Jesus who has crucified.

The last 14 points of the cross of Gasil Cathedral are tombs, and they are the birthplace and the beginning of eternity.

슬픔의 길 또는 고난의 길로 불리는 ‘십자가의 길’은 예수 그리스도가 본디오 빌라도에게 재판을 받은 곳으로부터 십자가를 지고 골고다 언덕을 향해 걸었던 약 800m의 길과 골고다 언덕에서 십자가 처형에 이르기까지의 전 과정을 의미하며 순례자들에게는 신앙적인 길로 예수의 십자가 수난을 기리는 의식을 하는 곳이다.

이 길에는 각각의 의미를 지닌 14개의 지점이 있다.

칠곡 가실성당 뒷산에도 십자가의 길을 재현해 놓았다.

예수님이 걸었던 고난의 길을 그림과 함께 짧은 글로 잘 묘사해 놓았다.

인간은 누구나 고난의 길을 가고 있고 때론 행복의 길도 잠시 걸어본다.

기쁨의 길이 있기에 슬픔의 길은 더욱 고통스럽고, 절망의 길을 걸었기에 희망의 길이 더욱 반가운 것이다.

인생을 아름답게 살기 위해서는 고난도 고통도 일상처럼 받아들여야하고 십자가를 진 예수의 힘겨움을 때론 절실히 체감할 수 있어야 한다. 

가실성당 십자가의 길 제일 마지막 14지점은 무덤이며 다시 탄생의 자리이자 영원의 시작이라고 적혀있다.
