추석은 가을 저녁, 달빛이 가장 좋은 밤으로 달이 유난히 밝은 좋은 명절이란 의미가 있다.

돌아갈 고향이 없는 이에게는 추석 보름달은 얄미운 존재다.

추석이 오면 새 옷에 새 신에 오랜만에 보는 반가운 얼굴들로 고향의 정겨움이 그득한데, 2년간의 전염병 신세를 진 사람들에겐 그 의미도 퇴색되어 간다.

반가워야 할 고향이 멀게만 느껴지고, 정든 사람들을 경계해야만 하는 기가막힌 시절에 어영청 밝은 둥근달은 어김없이 떠오른다.

소나무 위에 걸쳐진 추석 둥근달에 소원을 빌고 한 해의 풍작에 감사하니 하 어수선한 시절에 무탈하게 지내온 것만으로도 용한 일이로다.
