포기는 배추를 셀때나 쓰는 말이 아니다. 삶의 목표가 희박하고 나약한 의지를 가진 탓에 포기를 밥먹듯이 하는 사람도 많다.

우리 사회는 도전과 포기의 연속이다.

날마다 똑같이 반복되는 일상에서 탈출하려는 의지는 도전정신이지만 날마다 큰 변화가 없는 탓에 도전의 마음도 이내 포기해버린다.

강한 도전정신은 세상을 변화시키는 원동력이지만 포기해야 할 순간에는 과감히 결단을 내릴 수 있어야만 한다.

물러설 때를 알고 과감히 포기하는 것은 인생의 오랜 경험과 현명한 지혜의 발로로서 다가 올 미래를 예상할 수 있는 선지력을 지녔기 때문이다.
