김형석 명예교수는 인생을 어떻게 살 것인가에 대해 자신을 위해서 사는 것은 남는게 없지만 더불어 사는 것은 행복하다고 했으며 자신을 위해서 사는 이기주의자는 남는게 없다고 말한다.

또한 가장 잘 산 사람은 자신이 살아온 인생을 통해서 좀 더 많은 사람들이 인간답고 행복하게 살았다며 고맙다고 인사 받는 사람이라고 했으며, 가장 행복한 사람은 자신으로 인해 더 많은 사람이 인간답게 행복하게 살 수 있도록 사랑을 베푼 사람이라고 했다.

누구나 가치있고 보람된 인생을 살기를 원한다. 그 답은 지나온 인생을 매순간 되돌아 보는 것이다.

그런 이유로 가치 있는 인생에 대해 고민을 하고 생각하는 사람의 미래는 늘 밝고 희망적이며 즐겁다.

평균수명 100세 시대이지만 시간이 흐를수록 과학기술 의료기술의 발달로 생명연장은 자연스럽게 길어지게 된다.

따라서 과거 평균 연령이 50세였던 때의 과거의 사고보다 미래의 사고는 보다 포괄적이 확장성이 있어야 하며 진취적이어야 한다.
